Why am I writing?

Why am I writing?

That’s a good question.

In case you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m brand new to blogging.  I’m still not quite sure what I want to say, or who I want to tell it to. Which explains why my posts have been hitting all over the map…. well at least all over part of the map.  I haven’t’ been here long enough to be all over it.  LOL.

Maybe this is easier explained if I tell you a little more about myself.  I took the strengths assessment through Gallup a few years back, and it really explained a lot about why I do what I do.

Strength 1:  Achiever.  To me, it doesn’t mean that I need to beat anyone at anything.  Just that I have to do my best and always, always, always improve. I get tired, I get bored, I stop trying… and then I get guilty and start all over again.  The lapses never last very long, and I sometimes get burnt out from pushing myself.  But I always get back up on the horse and try again.

Strength 2:  Includer.  I think I must have really felt left out of things growing up because I don’t want to leave anyone out.  If I’m doing anything fun, I want others to do it with me.  If I’m succeeding at something (or at least trying to), I want to cheer others on to do the same.  If I’m helping out on a project, or supporting a charity, I want to promote it.

The test goes into a lot of other things, but these 2 are the top on my list.  In a nutshell, I want to do well and have fun, and I want everyone else to come with me.

So as I’ve entered this new adventure in writing, I want to share what I know, what I’m doing, what I’m learning, where I’ve been, and where I’m going.  I want to use all of these to inspire, encourage or harass others to do more, be more, have more in their lives.

I guess I’m just a life cheerleader.  I just haven’t discovered what to cheer about.  You wonderful people that have chosen to read my rantings are going to help me to decide which road to take.

And so, the adventure begins.
